Tactical Knives

My most successful line of tactical knives is not actually my original design, but that of my mentor John Weever, and his collaborator Jefferey Wemmer. The Patriot Warrior I and Patriot Warrior II are tactical knives designed off a sketch of Wemmer’s, and brought to life by Weever in an effort to donate the knives to mountain troops, Marines and Special Forces in Iraq. In 2008, Wemmer delivered 25 of them to our boys in the desert, and the rest is history. I have taken a personal pleasure in continuing this model of knives when I took over John’s shop in 2019. Each one is made of S30V stainless, hardened to 58-62 HRC, sharpened to a razors edge, and comes with a Spec.-Ops. Brands (Owned by Wemmer & associates) M.O.L.L.E w/ Kydex insert sheath. I make one-off and custom tactical pieces as well, but I cannot be more proud of the history and fluid design of the Patriot Warrior line!

My Patriot Warriors can be ordered in S30V, Damascus “Gentlemen Warrior”, and with a variety of Cerakote finishes, in addition to a wide variety of G10 handle colors.

Patriot Warrior History

You are now the proud owner of a Patriot Warrior knife, hand crafted by Lawvere & Son Knife Co. The Patriot Warrior has been in production for 11 years now, and was born of the auspicious goal to help the war effort in Iraq/Afghanistan. It has been field tested in war, proven in combat, and lives in both private collections and military personnel homes today. I am proud to produce it, and here’s why:

In 2007, John Weever of Glen Rose had a deep desire to help the war effort, and develop a tactical military knife, to be used by U.S. Special Forces that would hold up to extreme war conditions. Later that year, John became acquainted with Jeffrey Wemmer, a military webbing expert and co-founder of Spec.-Ops.® Brand. Together, John and Jeff spent the next nine months designing, developing and honing the first Patriot Warrior.

In 2008, Jeff traveled to Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar and Afghanistan to personally deliver the Patriot Warrior to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, with the majority being delivered at Camp Liberty in Baghdad, Iraq. The occasion was the 4th of July, and saw 1250 U.S. troops take the pledge and were sworn in during the largest wartime re-enlistment ceremony.

This was a collaborative effort by John, Jeff, and a plethora of gracious donors of materials, including Crucible Steel, Texas Knife Makers Supply, POP's Knife Making Supply, Paul Bos Heat Treat, and Spec.-Ops.® Brand.

The Patriot  Warrior has seen it all, it’s stood the test of time, and the same spirit that inhibited its creation as an infant still bleeds into the manufacturing process today. One knife at a time, hand made, with passion and reverence.

As my mentor, John had conveyed the history of this knife many times to me. He showed me his process, and how to manufacture it with the same quality standards he used.  When I took over John’s shop in 2019, I decided to continue the tradition of making the Patriot Warrior I and Patriot Warrior II, two sizes that accommodate both smaller and larger handed individuals, and use a lot of the same suppliers, particularly, Crucible Steel for the S30V, Spec.-Ops.® Brand for the sheath, and Paul Bos Heat Treat, who also heat treats Buck Knives.

I am proud every day that I get to do what I love in making knives, particularly making the Patriot Warrior.

May this knife find you in hallowed company while you hold it. It’s been wielded by brave men, humble heroes, and masters of combat.
